My blogging journey

If you are new to blogging and want answers to all of your questions, this is not the blog for you.  I am pretty sure that I don't have answers to all of your questions.  However, I am new to this domain and will be happy to share my experience with you.  I bought this domain name because it was inexpensive and I wanted to learn a bit about the process of setting everything up.  I have managed to get the site configured and it seems pretty responsive for visitors.  I have been able to setup email that is associated with my domain that appears to work very well.  I have joined a few services that will provide insight into you my visitors.  Since purchasing the domain, it has not been available all the time as I have been trying different configuration which has not always worked perfectly.  Here is what the host has served up for visitors.



I have had the domain up and running over a month now and there do appear to be visitors other than myself.  One of the services measuring my visitors is provided by Cloudflare.com  At the beginning, I took the domain away from Cloudflare so you can see there were no recorded visitors.  Here is how Cloudflare measure the visitors to 8675409.xyz





Here is were my traffic is coming from.  As the name of the blog is most closely associated with an english song from the 80's that traffic is mostly from the US.  I have wondered if any other counties could lay claim to the world's most famous phone number

July traffic

Just a quick update to let everyone know that the measured traffic on Blogger.com to my blog has continued to drop. July's views were 292, down slightly from June which came in at 374. My traffic peaked back in February and March when traffic averaged 572 over both months. I might post a google sheet with each month's traffic that I will keep updated. An open love letter to Microsoft OneNote

  This is an open love letter to Microsoft   OneNote .  I finally get you.  I have struggled with you for years, never quite seeing the power of your platform.  I am not sure that I have the best organization for the data that I collect with various sections, pages and notebooks.  I have created various entries and collected some somewhat useful data, but honestly until recently   OneNote   has been my second or third choice for saving research.  What recently changed for   m e has been connecting the   OneNote   clipper extension.  The   OneNote   clipper extension has enabled me to capture an entire article as searchable data.  In the past, I generally found that I needed to copy and paste to have all the text saved to   OneNote .  I did try the print to   OneNote   printer driver, while it did capture all the data of the article it seems to be   an image   file.  I was not able to copy and paste text from a printed article and the title is simply printout on my   OneNote   book.  Cl

Google sheets with importHTML for finviz.com

Hello everyone, I have been working on a Google sheet that helps me stay on top of some stocks.  I really like the googlefinance function as it updates various fields with almost no effort at all.  One attribute that I want in my spreadsheet is yield.  I have found that Google only provides this information for mutual funds.  In order to capture this information, you can use the importHTML function if you can find an appropriate website.  In seems yahoo finance has provided a good source in the past, but does not want to provide this data going forward.  They keep changing the data structure which wrecks the formulas in your spreadsheet.  It seems a very popular alternative is finvis.com.  If you visit their website, you can see a table structure with the various fields that are available.  In my linked spreadsheet, you will find two tabs.  The finvis tab contains two sets of data.  At the top is a simple copy paste of the finvis.com website for aapl of all table data.  The second dat
